Training: Extrication

Each month, Cave Spring Rescue Squad holds a training session. These sessions are used to refresh skills that are infrequently used, or to teach our members new information. Yesterday morning, several members participated in extrication training. That is, the use of tools to gain access to a patient trapped in a motor vehicle after a crash. Scene safety, stabilization, proper use of tools and patient safety were covered. Many thanks to instructors Ryan Boughal and Bobby Haynes for teaching the class. The class was held at Phil’s Towing in Salem.
